Dave Barrett (16/10/1938 - 12/04/2005)

Founder of the Cambridge Jazz Company, Dave Barrett sadly passed on despite his four-year battle with cancer. His musical arrangements and concepts are the mainstay of the present band today.

He performed with many of the great Jazz Artistes as follows:

Bud Freeman, Peanuts Hucko, Snubs Moseley, George Masso, Billy Butterfield, Kenny Davern, Wild Bill Davidson and Yank Lawson

and recorded for

Storyville Records, Denmark; Plant Life Records, England, with Wild Bill Davidson, Bud Freeman; and Yank Lawson has recorded with the Cambridge Jazzband entitled "A Yank at Cambridge", featuring Val Barrett (Rosie Val) and Dave Barrett; Munich Records, Holland "The Song is You" also featuring Rosie Val and Dave Barrett and the Cambridge Jazzband.
